The implemented technical solution combines laser distance sensors — for real-time measurement of the film roll diameter — with closed-loop servomotors for both steering wheel rotation and film tension adjustment. A PID controller implemented in the Siemens PLC ensures continuous self-regulation of the process, resulting in precise stretching of the film and absolute control over the wrapping quality.
